Fuminori Nakamura

Fuminori Nakamura is a Japanese author born in 1977 in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. He studied literature at Fukushima University and began his writing career while still a student, publishing his debut novel at a remarkably young age. Nakamura has established himself as one of the most internationally celebrated voices in contemporary Japanese crime fiction, winning Japan’s most prestigious literary prizes and building a devoted global readership through translations that have introduced his dark, existentially charged novels to readers around the world.

Nakamura’s breakthrough work, The Thief (2009; English translation 2012), announced him as a distinctive and unsettling talent.
