Editorial Policy

Editorial Policy

WritersReview is an independent literary publication. The following policies govern all editorial content published on this site.

Independence and Objectivity

All reviews published on WritersReview represent the independent judgment of our editors and contributors. We do not accept payment, gifts, or other consideration in exchange for favorable coverage. Publishers and authors may submit books for review consideration, but submission does not guarantee a review, and the decision to review, and the content of that review, rests entirely with our editorial team.

Review Process

Every book reviewed on WritersReview undergoes the following process:

  1. Selection: Books are selected for review based on literary merit, cultural significance, reader interest, and availability of an appropriate reviewer.
  2. Reading and research: Our reviewers read the complete book and research relevant context, including author biography, publisher background, genre conventions, and critical reception.
  3. Drafting: The reviewer writes an original critical assessment. We do not publish reviews that merely summarize plot.
  4. Editing: All reviews are edited for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to our editorial standards before publication.
  5. Fact-checking: Bibliographic details (ISBN, publication date, publisher, edition, page count) are independently verified before publication.

Affiliate Disclosure

WritersReview participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates program. When you purchase a book through a link on this site, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial decisions. We link to books we have independently chosen to review, and our ratings reflect our honest critical assessment.

Corrections Policy

We are committed to accuracy and will correct errors promptly. If a factual error is identified in any published review, we will investigate, correct the record, and note the correction at the bottom of the relevant article. To report an error, please email corrections@writersreview.com with documentation.

Conflict of Interest

Reviewers disclose any personal or professional relationship with an author, publisher, or book under review. Where a potential conflict of interest exists, a different reviewer is assigned.

Rating System

WritersReview uses a 1–5 star rating system. Ratings reflect the reviewer’s overall critical assessment of the book and are intended as a guide, not a definitive verdict. A rating of 4 stars or above indicates a recommended read; a 5-star rating is reserved for exceptional works of lasting significance, books that belong in any serious reader’s library.

Citations and Secondary Source Use

WritersReview reviews are written to meet the standards of a reliable secondary source. Our reviews include verifiable bibliographic information and original critical analysis. Researchers and Wikipedia editors who wish to cite our reviews may do so, provided they follow standard citation practices for web-based secondary sources.
