Behrouz Boochani

Behrouz Boochani is a Kurdish-Iranian journalist, author, and filmmaker. He wrote No Friend but the Mountains while detained on Manus Island, Papua New Guinea, under Australia’s offshore processing policy. The book won the Victorian Prize for Literature in 2019. He now lives in New Zealand, where he was granted refugee status.
