Akwaeke Emezi

Akwaeke Emezi is a Nigerian-born author and artist whose work spans fiction, memoir, and poetry. Their debut novel Freshwater (2018) was a finalist for the PEN/Hemingway Award and won the Lambda Literary Award for Transgender Fiction. Emezi is the author of Pet (2019), The Death of Vivek Oji (2020), and other acclaimed works.
