Karin Hurt

Karin Hurt is an American author, leadership consultant, and executive coach who writes on management, organizational culture, and the development of leaders at all levels. She is the CEO of Let’s Grow Leaders, a leadership development consultancy she co-founded with her husband David Dye, and is the co-author with Dye of several books on leadership and workplace effectiveness.

Their books include Winning Well: A Manager’s Guide to Getting Results — Without Losing Your Soul (2016), which addresses the tension between performance and humanity in management, arguing that leaders can and should be both results-focused and people-centered. Courageous Cultures: How to Build Teams of Micro-Innovators, Problem Solvers, and Customer Advocates (2020) examines how leaders can create organizational environments where employees feel safe enough to speak up, challenge assumptions, and contribute their best ideas.

Hurt’s background includes more than twenty years in corporate leadership at Verizon, where she held senior positions in customer service and operations and led large teams through significant organizational change. This experience gives her writing a practical credibility that distinguishes it from leadership literature produced purely from the consulting or academic side.

She has been featured in Harvard Business Review, Inc., Forbes, and other business publications, and has been a speaker at conferences on leadership, human resources, and management development worldwide. Let’s Grow Leaders produces a widely read blog and podcast, and Hurt continues to write, consult, and speak on the challenges and opportunities of contemporary organizational leadership.
